Our name

Inbhear (pronounced 'Inver')

Inbhear is the Irish word for estuary. Our Irish office is situated looking out on the Malahide Estuary in Dublin. Our choice of name is, firstly, a manner of telling the people who deal with us who we are.

Secondly, we feel it gives an insight into one of the key reasons why we’re different. We recognise that the services we offer to managers and their funds extend to, and are a vital part of, their relationship with their investors. This focuses us on providing our services in a way that adds value to our clients' offerings.

We see ourselves as operating at the meeting point of managers and their investors, an analogy we draw to operating where rivers meet the sea.

At Inbhear we focus on providing fund administration services which meet the needs of investment managers targeting the long-term growth of capital.

Our business was established in Dublin, Ireland in 2004, as a subsidiary of a UK-based group of investment administration companies.

In 2013 we concluded a management buy-out of the Dublin business.

The decision to acquire the business was driven by our wish to refocus the ownership and operating model of the business to better support the provision of a fund administration service that differentiates itself on the quality of service provided to clients.

In 2016 we opened our Cayman Islands Monetary Authority licenced company management business.

We view our business as one we are building in partnership with our clients over the long term. We think the grouping of skills and experience of our people, the way we apply those skills in partnering with our clients and the fact that we own the business gives our business a significant intellectual property asset in the fund administration marketplace.
